  • How to get it

    How to get access to Absa Mobi Tap 
    • Open an Absa Merchant Account online by clicking on the link below or visit the nearest Absa branch
    • Once the account is opened, the Absa Relationship Manager requests for an OTP (one time password) and sends the Absa Mobi Tap App for you to download on Google PlayStore
    • You receive an OTP on your phone and activate the Absa Mobi Tap. (Your phone should be NFC-enabled* with access to data or Wi-Fi at any given time for transaction processing)
       

    *(How to check if your phone is NFC-enabled: Go to settings on your android phone – Connections – Enable NFC and contactless payments)

     

    How to use it
    • To process a payment, the merchant enters the customer’s transaction amount and prompts the customer to tap their card
    • The customer taps their contactless card on the back of the merchant’s smartphone and enters their PIN (for amounts above KES 2,000) and completes the purchase
    • The merchant is able to track daily transactions and generate a report to their mobile phone
