How to register and use Hello Money
  • How to register (new user)

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Select Language (English or Swahili)
    3. Select the self registration option
    4. Enter account number
    5. Press 1 to accept terms and conditions 
    6. Enter date of birth details as requested
    7. Enter card number digits as requested
    8. Enter debit card’s expiry date 
    9. Receive confirmation screen of successful registration
    10. Temporary mobile banking PIN will be sent to your device via SMS
  • How to change PIN

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter temporary mobile banking PIN 
    3. Enter new PIN
    4. Re-enter new PIN
    5. Confirmation screen of successful PIN change
  • How to reset PIN

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Select 1 for "Forgot PIN"
    3. Input "1" to continue
    4. Input your account number and other personal details as requested (details pertaining to your date of birth and debit card details) 
    5. Input the new PIN and confirm.
    6. Your PIN is successfully changed.
  • How to request a statement

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN
    3. Select option 5: Bank Services
    4. Select option 1: Account services
    5. Select Mini Statement
    6. Select Account number
    7. Account mini statement details are displayed.
How to add a beneficiary
  • M-wallet

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN and send
    3. Select the ‘Mpesa/Airtel Money’ option 2 from list
    4. Select Mobile Money Operator for sending money to "MPESA or Airtel Money"
    5. Select wallet to transfer funds to "To own number or To other number"
    6. Select option 3: New Beneficiary
    7. Select the Mobile Money Operator
    8. Input beneficiary mobile number
    9. Enter beneficiary nick name
    10. Press 1 to confirm
  • Electricity

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN
    3. Select option 5: Bank Services
    4. Select option 2: Pay bills
    5. Select option 4: Register a biller
    6. Select the biller KPLC Postpaid or PataPawa KPLC - Prepaid
    7. Enter account number
    8. Enter biller nick name
    9. Press 1 to confirm
    10. You see a confirmation screen
  • Fund transfer an Absa account

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN
    3. Select option 5: Bank Services
    4. Select option 3: Funds transfer
    5. Select register beneficiary 
    6. Select Absa A/C
    7. Enter beneficiary account number
    8. Enter beneficiary nick name
    9. Press 1 to confirm
    10. You will see a confirmation screen
How to top up airtime
  • How to top up airtime

    For your own number:

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN
    3. Select option 4: Airtime Top up
    4. Select operator (Safaricom Airtime or TELKOM AIRTIME)
    5. Select to purchase airtime for your number
    6. Enter amount. No decimals allowed
    7. Select account or credit card to debit
    8. Press 1 to confirm details
    9. You see a confirmation screen

     

    For another number:

    1. Dial *233#
    2. Enter PIN
    3. Select option 6: Buy Airtime Top up
    4. Select operator (Airtel/MTN/Africell/UTL)
    5. Select to purchase airtime for Other Number
    6. Select if it's a one-time/first-time transaction or to an existing beneficiary
    7. Enter the mobile number if it's a one-time transaction
    8. Enter airtime amount
    9. Select the transaction Account
    10. Press 1 to confirm details
    11. You will see a confirmation screen
How to transfer funds and send cash
  • How to send cash

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN and send
    3. Select the ‘Cash Send’ option 1 from list
    4. Enter beneficiary's mobile number
    5. Enter the amount in multiples of 1000
    6. Select account to send from 
    7. Create a 4-digit access PIN for the recipient
    8. Confirm the 4 digit PIN created at step 7
    9. Confirm the transaction, and receive a confirmation note of the transaction
    10. An SMS will be sent to the number with the details of the CashSend purchase
    11. Send the PIN separately to the recipient
  • How to do a fund transfer (Absa to Absa)

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN
    3. Select option 5: Bank Services
    4. Select option 3: Fund Transfer
    5. Select option 1: To own Absa A/C, or Option 2: To other Absa A/C
    6. Select registered (If beneficiary is on your list of payees) or unregistered (and enter the account number)
    7. Enter amount to be transferred. Decimals not allowed
    8. Select account to transfer from
    9. Press 1 to confirm the transaction
    10. Confirmation screen is displayed
  • How to transfer to mobile wallet

    1. Dial *224#
    2. Enter PIN and send
    3. Select the ‘Mpesa/Airtel Money’ option 2 from list
    4. Select Mobile Money Operator for sending money to "MPESA or Airtel Money"
    5. Select wallet to transfer funds to "To own number or To other number"
    6. Select if this is a one-off transfer or a transfer to an saved beneficiary
    7. Input the customer mobile number
    8. Input the transaction amount
    9. Select the Account to be debited
    10. Press 1 to confirm the transaction
